Rating: Double Bogey
I came across this book from a “mental coach” who works with young athletes in breaking through barriers. Although in the moment I ordered it from Amazon, I know if I would have done a little research I would have looked to the library or a little review on it and probably never have gotten it.
For me, this book is “out there.” Anytime I see that someone broke their back, and healed themselves with their mind? I think there is a very slippery slope here. Gosh, the main premise that the mind plays a role in what you experience I can buy into, i.e. -a placebo is merely sugar, but one can feel the same response as medication. Re-fuse 8 pieces of my spine though? Ehhh.
What caught my eye: This is really a bad read overall. The author takes many liberties taking stories and fitting them into his world view, i.e. Aaron Rogers believes in the placebo effect since he visualizes plays in his mind… a bit of a stretch.
