Interesting read for me. It had moments of an Hole in One to Eagle rating, yet in the end it wore on me, bringing itself down to a mere Birdie Rating. Larry is surely gifted in sharing some truly remarkable explanations of markets, brokers, and investing attributes. Yet as often occurs, the book becomes a soap box for him to espouse his specific firm’s value statement. Further, it reinforces the challenge I see in the world of finance, somehow dictating that Investing is Planning – which it is not.
Lastly, this book just seems to have some dementia as it repeats concepts multiple times, which for me creates confusion, more than affirms learning. Overall – some of his examples were world class, and I am encouraged to possibly read some more of his writings – although I am fearful it will be the exact same concepts with a different title!
What caught my eye: He also realized that his original gains were a result of luck, similar to a hot hand at the craps table.
