As is the case with many books – this book has a phenomenal premise and poor execution. Don’t forget I write my reviews from my perspective as someone who has spent almost 20 years trying to help develop financial peace for families. This book is strong with advice pieces liken to throwing mud against a wall to see what sticks. For my family, for my clients, there is just a higher standard – i.e. share with me something you’ve personally seen work time and time again!
I would still get back to The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley as the premier example of a parenting book/money concept primer for just about anyone. Sprinkle in some Boundaries with Kids by Henry Cloud, and you got yourself a great start.
How these books continue to side step personal responsibility, or feed into the narcissistic entitlement that is so prevalent in our get rich quick society, I’ll just never know!
What caught my eye: People who are poor don’t have everything they need, like food and clothing and medicine. We have those things, so we’re not poor.
