Amazing find for the dynamic ‘thrifter’ that I am! At first I wondered how Amy escaped my purview till now. Ends up, after she achieved the success she needed through her own thrift – and then she retired! She eventually enjoyed the fruits she reaped through choosing to living frugally… for a time!
I really loved this book (but I’m kinda a frugality nerd!) and everything it represents. It’s actually the best of all her newsletters grouped in some sort of order. Surely the date of this book itself –circa 1980’s– is what knocks this book down from being an Eagle or Hole in One. Further, some of its suggestions are woefully dated. But for me– where this book shines is its concepts. Its belief– rooted in personal responsibility, and choice to live differently, so eventually you can live differently!
This book will take you back to your childhood, it will refresh those ideas of living conservatively, maybe even give you an idea on being more socially responsible (you know, re-purpose something). This book gives great perspective! It’s a monster– but I loved it, cover to cover, as I paged through it.
What caught my eye: buy used! (nough said, right!)
