Another good one. And when I say good I think the bar may be a little higher when it comes to investment related book – simply because there is so much garbage out there, designed to confuse and simply sell books based on fear and greed.
What you’ll find from the Endowment Manager of Yale University is sound principles that run through some of our core investment philosophy. Core, index, low fee, transparent….multi-diversified investment strategy. I love it.
This book meanders a bit, especially in its boisterous explanations and justifications. I think readers/investors get his premise, and frankly, what at its core is a simple philosophy… don’t play the game Wall Street wants you to, invest in great companies (have an equity bias), rebalance, and do planning. That can get lost as 2/3 of the book are (almost rantings) examples of some of the big blow ups that have occurred in the investment world.
So for me – this is an oay book, but not necessarily something I’d tell everyone to run out and get.
What caught my eye: An equity oriented portfolio builds a strong foundation for investment success.
